What’s your favorite thing about competitive programming?
That feeling you get when you finally solve the problem.
How did you start out in competitive programming?
I attended classes in school.
What is your most memorable SRM and why?
I guess my first SRM win.
What’s your favorite Topcoder SRM problem and why?
I can’t settle on one single problem. As of late my favorite was TCO 2018 algo semi 1 medium.
Who do you think is the most fierce or talented coder at Topcoder and why?
I can’t really make a choice between Petr and tourist.
What do you do when not working?
Mostly playing card games (like MTG) and mind games.
Where do you work? Tell us about your space(s).
I have a pretty standard setup: 3 monitors at work, 2 at home.
What kind of music do you listen to while working on your solutions?
As of late I mostly listen to 2CELLOS . It is easier to code with no lyrics involved.
What’s the best tip or piece of advice you can share with other members at Topcoder?
Practice a lot. Like seriously.
What does Topcoder mean to you?
It is where I started to compete personally, so it means a lot to me.
What are you most excited about for this year’s TCO Finals?
Meeting friends.
Do you strive to be at TCO every year and if so, why does it matter to you?
I think TCO finals are the best onsite programming competition.
What was your secret to getting a ticket for the TCO finals more than once?
Persistence.
