UI Design Finalist
What does your design process generally look like?
I always start with research. I spend a lot of time with pen and paper before working on the computer.
What is your most memorable Topcoder design challenge during this TCO19 qualification and why?
Every challenge is memorable for me. Powerpoint concepts challenge for Microsoft was very special for me though. It was absolute fun competing on this challenge as I love working on conceptual designs. I will cherish this win forever!
Who do you think is the most fierce or talented designer at Topcoder and why?
It has to be Iamtong. Man, I wanna interview him personally and ask him how he manages his time so well considering he plays games and takes care of his cute family while traveling with them!
What design software and hardware do you use and why?
Photoshop. Although, I'm moving to XD soon!
What do you do when not working?
Travel and photography! I've been trying my best to travel and work at the same time.
Where do you work? Tell us about your space(s).
Topcoder all the way! And the workspace? Coffee shops and sometimes my home office.
What kind of music do you listen to while working on your solutions?
Multiple genres. It mainly depends on the amount of time I have left to submit the designs.
What is the dream project you want to build, design, or solve for?
I have some cool ideas written in my book. I can't wait to experiment in 2020. I have been saving up the money for this, thanks to Topcoder! <3
What's the best tip or piece of advice you can share with other members at Topcoder?
Never give up! I have seen many designers become successful in competing even when they were losing a lot initially, including myself. Keep learning from your mistakes. Take the advantage of comparing your designs with the winning submissions, after the challenge has ended.
What does Topcoder mean to you?
Absolutely everything! I'm so glad I found this community. It has changed my life in so many ways. I could write a huge essay on this. I would stay with Topcoder until my very last breath.
What are you most excited about for this year's TCO Finals?
Meeting members, obviously! Also, the trip we usually have after the TCO!
Do you strive to be at TCO every year and if so, why does it matter to you?
Who wouldn't wanna be at TCO every year!? I love meeting members in person. Sharing stories, knowledge, and traveling together... TCO is fun!
