What is the most interesting challenge you competed on at Topcoder and why?
It’s not so easy to pick one specific challenge. Generally, I find all the challenges related to machine learning very interesting.

What is your most memorable Topcoder challenge this TCO19 qualification and why?
The most memorable challenge was the “Actian Avalanche Application Ideation Challenge”, no doubt. Since I was the only winner, I received 9000 points and that put in the right direction towards TCO.

Who do you think is the most fierce or talented coder at Topcoder and why?
I meet very talented people during every challenge. The list would be too long.

What is the programming language you most relate to and why?
Java is the programming language that I’ve used for 20 years. But, in the last year I worked on machine learning and Python, which I consider a top language.

What do you do when not working?
I spend my time with my family, I play sports (tennis in particular), and sometimes I travel.

Where do you work? Tell us about your space(s).
I work from my home office.

If you could give your past self one piece of advice, what would it be?
Work, then dream, then repeat.

What kind of music do you listen to while working on your solutions?
When I work, I prefer silence over anything else.

What is the dream project you want to build, design, or solve for?
I haven’t decided yet.

What’s the best tip or piece of advice you can share with other members at Topcoder?
Be patient, accept defeats, and work to turn those defeats into wins.

What does Topcoder mean to you?
A great place to learn and to stay connected with some very talented people in the IT world.

What are you most excited about for this year’s TCO Finals?
The most exciting part for me is the Development final.

Do you strive to be at TCO every year and if so, why does it matter to you?
Yes I do. TCO is the final prize after a year of hard work.

What was your secret to getting a ticket for the TCO finals more than once?
No special secret, I just worked on the right challenges. I was a bit lucky to have won some of them.
