Remembring the Champion and his Legacy

TCC19 - SA - Remembering the Champion

If one had to use just one word to describe Leo, it would be energy. He was always thinking about new projects and ways to improve the ones that he was already invested in. Whenever he had an idea, he would never take no as an answer (and that’s how he made things happen!).

Leo was a loyal friend and he was kind to everyone, going out of his way to help anyone that asked for his advice or aid. No one knew how he could manage to be committed in so many things and still have plenty of time for his family and friends!

His legacy will continue in the coding community of Latin America and in the memory of everyone that loved him.

If you haven’t heard about the great man, you should take a look at his achievements:

  • Computer Scientist from University of Buenos Aires

  • 3-times ACM-ICPC World Finalist (2010 and 2012 as a competitor and in 2016 as coach of the Latin America Champion team).

  • Main impulsor of the creation of the Argentinian Training Camp for ICPC in 2010 and Director since 2016

  • Speaker at more than 10 Training Camps all over Latin America, all the way from Argentina to Cuba

  • Problem setter for ICPC Latin America Regionals, Argentinian Programming Tournament, Facebook HackerCup and Topcoder SRMs

  • Intern at Facebook and Google

  • Head of teaching assistants at University of Buenos Aires
